Flying maggots

Article about maggots brought on an airplane  I’m curious what the passenger was thinking who brough maggot filled meat onto a flight and went to put it in the overhead bin. I’m thinking this may be one of my potential clients. Next time someone says they are afraid of flying, I’ll need to ask if that is from fear of crashing or because of infestations.

ATT Customer Support Experience

It was really weird.  One day everything is working totally fine on my phone and then the next day whenever we made outgoing calls, the caller ID on the receiving person’s phone would show as a private caller.  While most people would find this as just a minor nuisance, this was a bigger problem for Mrs. F as she works from home and when she makes business calls, people need… Read More »ATT Customer Support Experience

Bizarre interests in Google search

So I’m looking through the Google trends just now, and while I’ve seen some weird searches before, I have to say this one got my attention – perhaps because of my pseudonym.  I can’t figure out why the search phrase “why does my mom turn me on” is number 6 on the google trends right now.  It’s a pretty bizarre topic so I figured maybe there was some kind of… Read More »Bizarre interests in Google search

Removing malware experience

Mrs. F downloaded a virus while looking up information on baby crib safety – imagine that of all topics to use to add malware to a website.  If their assumption is that people researching baby cribs are not as tech saavy, I suppose they are correct in this case as Mrs. F started to yell for my help.  At least she is smart enough to recognize the pop-up saying that… Read More »Removing malware experience

Noise makers driving people to violence

wap.cbsnews.com/site?t=bcuFl5djBLofa7MCrwyQXQ&sid=cbsnews It was only a matter of time before those annoying horns lead to violence. It reminds me of the Waco standoff and the police started playing different sounds through loudspeakers to try to upset the cult followers. I believe some of the sounds were like babies crying or animals moaning. There is some instinctual urge to want to do anything to make certain noises stop. And now we know… Read More »Noise makers driving people to violence

Traffic down a little

Just to give an update as to what I think is going on with Google’s update.  We’re well into June and it seems like things in some areas are maybe settling down.  At least on this site with no real off site SEO (although I suppose I could have started to get some links naturally) it seems that the traffic peaked June 2nd with a smaller peak around June 12th.… Read More »Traffic down a little

Unusual checked baggage

USA today article about human heads   As best I can understand is that Southwest Airlines discovered a package of 40-60 human heads trying to be sent on one of their flights. Because the package wasn’t properly labeled they discovered the contents and there is now an investigation into whether these were black market body parts being sold for science. Medtronics is a pretty big company and I can’t imagine… Read More »Unusual checked baggage

Unusual marketing techniques

Not sure why it struck me enough to want to blog about, but while listening to Kathy Griffin’s interview with Howard Stern today she used the phrase, “Bing it”. It’s the first time I heard someone use the phrase and it did actually sound pretty natural. Most people use Google and you often here people say “Google it” or “look it up on Google”.   I have heard in the… Read More »Unusual marketing techniques

Not the greatest trio ever

Link to news story about Hansen   I was recently wondering what happened to the fabulous musical trio (not to be confused with the less well respected Police band). And no – Sting was not called to intervene in this particular case. I’m thinking the police should have intervened not because of the unruly crowd, but instead the crimes against humanity brought about by exposing people to Mmmbop again.
